Blog Entry: A WAIKATO surfer suspected to have been murdered in Bali died of a head injury. The body of Jordan Lucas, 30, was found in the sea by a fisherman near the popular surf beach of Uluwatu in southern Bali last week. Experts carrying out an autopsy have confirmed he died of head wounds but it is not yet known how they were inflicted. Jordan's parents Graham and Julie, and his younger sister Asher, 28, are in Bali and have met police and forensic experts. Family spokesman Rob Kirkwood told the Sunday Star-Times the family have visited Uluwatu, laid some flowers and spent tiffany heart pendant some private time in remembrance. "They are pretty shocked and it was a very emotional time for them to go to the scene but they can't speak too highly of the New Zealand consulate staff, the Indonesian medical people and the Bali division of the Indonesian police force," Kirkwood said. Until the autopsy was completed the family were in the hands of Indonesian officials and did not know when they would be able to bring Jordan home. Air Jordan Retro Jordan's cousin, Tauranga woman Amber Sherson, 28, described her cousin Jordan as a talented builder who loved making things for people. He was very proud of a wall unit and TV cabinet he had made for his parents and his grandmother also loved a wooden clock he had made for her. Jordan and his parents, who own a lifestyle block at Rukuhia near Hamilton, had recently completed renovating an old villa he had relocated to a section in Ngaruawahia. "It was finished just before he left for Bali in April and it was immaculate. It was great that they had all been able to work on it together," Sherson said. The Lucas family enjoyed a close bond and spent a lot of time together. This year Jordan worked to earn enough money so he could spend most of the winter in Bali, planning to return soon to indulge in his other passion, snowboarding. Sherson said when she was growing up, she and her brother Carl, and Jordan and Amber spent most school holidays together either on her parents' farm or her aunt and uncle's property. Jordan and Carl would disappear for hours on the farm eeling or riding motorbikes together, she said. Later, once Jordan developed a love of surfing, he would always be going on road trips, seeking out the best swells in the North Island. "Jordan was really easygoing but he was also such a passionate person. We are still coming to grips with what has happened. It has been such a shock." LV Necklace Sherson said the family wanted to bring Jordan home as soon as possible and hoped any memorial service would include something to do with the beach.
